Starting next year in 2022 banks will be closed on Juneteeth to recognize the newly minted federal holiday. Keep in mind though that since Juneteeth falls on a Friday, the actual closure will take place the following Monday on June 20, 2022. Banks will be closed, but the the US stock market has not decided if it will close the exchanges for the day yet.
Bank of America, JPMorgan, Wells Fargo said starting in 2022, all branches will be closing as well as, their corporate office after Joe Biden signed into law the new federal holiday to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. Also, starting in 2022 all government workers and government-run facilities like the Post Office will be closed. The central bank said earlier that will determine how to adjust the schedule and closure for years to come.
